HEALTHSYNC A MOBILE CONNECTED DIGITAL SCALE
Abstract
The rapid advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies has significantly transformed the landscape of healthcare monitoring by enabling intelligent, connected, and data-driven solutions. This paper presents HealthSync: A Mobile Connected Digital Scale, a smart health monitoring system designed to overcome the limitations of conventional weighing machines, which are restricted to displaying weight without offering data storage, analysis, or connectivity features.The proposed system integrates a load cell sensor with an HX711 high-resolution analog-to-digital converter and a microcontroller unit (Arduino/ESP32) to achieve precise and reliable weight measurement. The system incorporates wireless communication capabilities using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi modules, allowing seamless real-time transmission of data to a dedicated mobile application. The mobile application serves as a user interface and analytical platform, enabling functionalities such as real-time weight display, historical data storage, graphical trend visualization, and automatic Body Mass Index (BMI) calculation based on user inputs.In addition to basic monitoring, the system supports data-driven insights by analyzing weight trends over time, thereby assisting users in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and enabling preventive healthcare practices. The architecture is designed to be cost-effective, compact, and energy-efficient, making it suitable for deployment in home, fitness, and clinical environments.Experimental evaluation of the system demonstrates high measurement accuracy with minimal deviation, stable wireless communication with negligible latency, and consistent performance across repeated trials. The integration of sensing, embedded processing, and mobile computing ensures improved usability and user engagement compared to traditional systems.Furthermore, the proposed solution provides a scalable framework that can be extended with advanced features such as cloud integration, multi-user support, and artificial intelligence-based health recommendations. Overall, HealthSync represents a practical and efficient approach toward next-generation smart healthcare systems, contributing to the growing ecosystem of IoT-enabled health monitoring devices.
